PhD Research
For my PhD research, I am studying the ways in which the irreducible powers of the universe flow through the human body and psyche in order to help heal, guide, and evolve us into more potentiated versions of ourselves.
Many therapies rely on these innate healing powers, but rarely will they define them in their cosmic dimension. My research sets out to discover what happens when we embed human healing within the greater scheme of our planetary and cosmic evolution. How does the universe desire to move through us as individuals? As communities? Who does the universe need us to become in order to enjoy our most soulful expression of self while also contributing to the world around us? What capacities do we need to develop? What areas need healing? In a time characterized by mounting systems collapse, where do we go from here?
With a background and Masters degree in evolutionary cosmology and human consciousness, I am now interested in the creation of a psycho-spiritual therapeutic methodology that is embedded in an evolutionary and emergent framework that takes into account the needs of our time and the demands of our future. Each of us, as self-organizing systems created through the evolutionary process, has a unique purpose that benefits our shared planetary community. It is our human responsibility to discover that purpose and give ourselves back to the world that created us.
Rather than fumbling around in search of purpose, why not listen to the universe’s guidance?
"Be patient, for there is certainly specific work waiting for you. Or did you think the universe went through 14 billion years of work to create you if there was not a particular function that you—and only you—could do? The creative powers residing in you will be evoked in time for the work they were created for."

Be a part of this exploratory research
This work is about purpose—finding our place within our planetary community—but it’s also about all the work and healing required to uncover that purpose. By tracking the flow of the universe within the body, it seems as though the universe directs us toward areas of blockages, helping us clear away what no longer serves us. Sometimes we find residue from past trauma, or old beliefs and attitudes that have become obsolete, and therefore, restrictive. We may tap into some inner resource that provides us strength and courage, deepening our capacity to withstand hardship. Along the way, we unearth our gifts and examine our potential, and we are led closer and closer to a newfound understanding and embodiment of who we really are and what we’re meant to do with our lives.
In sessions with clients, we put this methodology to work. Sessions begin with as much talk and check-in as feels necessary, and then, when ready, we will engage in an exploratory and guided somatic process. In this process, we check-in with whatever feels most alive, relying on feelings, sensations, and intuitions to help us follow the flow of wisdom that moves within us.
*While I am training to become a psychologist, I currently practice as a spiritual counselor. And while this work helps guide my dissertation research, I will always hold sessions with the utmost care and integrity, honoring your needs and process above all else.

Bringing the universe down to Earth: A somatic process...
What do I mean when I say the universe? It may also be referred to the flow of nature, the Tao, the adaptive unconscious. Essentially, it’s that irreducible force that’s been there since the beginning and exists within everything. Many believe it contains a deeper intelligence—one that cannot be truly known, but certainly can be felt. Some may call it the divine or the sacred, and indeed, it contains a spiritual impulse. How you relate to it is personal, but each and every one of us can access it through the wisdom of our body. This is why this work is somatic in nature. Like the flow of water through its watershed, in order to track the flow of the universe, we must trace its movements through the form that contains it—our bodies.
